Trash and Recycling

Clean-Up Days

Town of Marshall provides its residents with two free clean-up days each year. Typically, they are held the first Saturday in May and the third Saturday in October, but these dates may change. Our next clean-up day is scheduled for October 21, 2023. Workers are available to help you unload.

Trash items are accepted. The following items ARE NOT ACCEPTED: Agricultural or household chemicals, electronic equipment, batteries, florescent bulbs, tires and oil, construction rubble and yard waste. Freon must be removed from appliances.

A trailer is also available for scrap metal of all kinds.

Trash Collection and Recycling Center

The Town operates a trash collection and recycling center at the Town Shop, 18475 Gillingham Drive. The center is open on the first and third Saturdays of each month, even if those days are holidays. Hours are from 8 AM until noon. Please do NOT leave items there at any other time! The critters get into the bags and leave a mess which you will be expected to clean up!

We no longer sell bags.

Please pay the attendant per bag the following rates:

13 gallon kitchen bags: $1/bag

39-42 gallon bags: $2/bag

55 gallon or larger bags: $3/bag

Please ask the assistant for help lifting heavy bags or items.

Recycling is “single stream”, meaning you may mix cans, bottles and recyclable plastics. Please do not place plastic garbage bags or shopping bags in the recycle dumpster as they clog the sorting equipment. A separate dumpster is available for all paper and cardboard even though the sign says cardboard only. Recyclables may be left without charge.
